Children have a whole array of developmental milestones.  These tend to happen around the same age and in the same order for the majority of children.

When a child doesn’t reach two or more milestones in all areas of development:

  • motor skills/physical
  • speech and language/communication
  • cognitive/thinking
  • social and emotional

they are described as having Global Developmental Delay.
